Gifts of Hope Vietnam

What is Gifts of Hope?

Gifts of Hope is a giving opportunity during the Christmas season for those who want to give and receive a gift with a difference - one that will literally change someone's world.

These gifts don't fill your drawers or cupboards with extra things you don't need. Instead, they are practical ways of helping people in need here in Vietnam.

So as our shopping centres, televisions, and social media feeds flood with Christmas fever and the 'must-haves' for the season, let us take some time to remember the real reason for the season.

Gift a gift with a difference and bless those you love with something of lasting value this year by popping over to our Gifts of Hope website.

For every gift you order, we'll send you a beautiful digital gift card to pass on to your friend or relative, describing the life-changing impact of the present they've received… a helmet for a child, swimming lessons to prevent child drowning, nutrition training for pregnant mothers and so much more.

You can put your love in action today by visiting the Gifts of Hope shop right now and sharing the true meaning of Christmas with the world. Simply follow the prompts.

Vietnam: What a year so far...

What a year it has been so far. From Vietnam to Thailand, to Europe, back to Thailand, Australia, Central Asia and home again.
Central Asia Ministry
Many women in the Central Asian region are treated with less respect than men simply because they are women. There have been many stories on the news about the plight of women and girls in Central Asia which leaves them without a voice and a feeling of low self worth. Recently, Deb along with Bek Windsor had the opportunity to go into this region and journey some key women leaders in the Flourish Program. A program Deb and Bek developed to help women and girls move towards living life as God intended, thriving, not just surviving. During the few days together, these women experienced many personal breakthroughs in areas of their lives that had held them captive. These amazing women now have a new found confidence, greater self worth and inner strength which will be tools they carry with them when challenges come their way. It is these women who will also translate our Flourish Program into Russian so that they can then take Flourish out across this whole region.
Our Aussie Ministry
During September and October we had the opportunity to speak at 2 conferences and also represent ACCI at 5 of the 6 ACC State Conferences. It was great catching up with many of you in Aussieland over this time and also hear the heartbeat of what is happening in each state. For those of you we didn't get to see, we hope we can do this during our next visit which will be around ACC National Conference 2019.
Vietnam
The word tells us, 'Point your kids in the right direction and when they are old, they won't be lost.' Prov 22:6 Msg
If you have watched any travel shows lately, you would have noticed that Vietnam is one of the top places to visit because of it's beauty, the friendliness of the people, and it's old world charm. Besides this country being an amazing place to visit, it is also one of the fastest developing nations in the world. As the face of Vietnam continues to change, the younger generation are having to navigate life within these constant changes. Some of these changes are good, but some not so good, however, no matter what changes are occurring 'externally' in this country, our heart and motivation is to ensure that 'internally' the youth we minister to, grow up with a strong, confident assurance of who they are and what they have been created for in this life. This is why we have created a number of life skills programs for kids in order to help them in a number of challenges that they will naturally face. Not only do we recognise the need for life skills, but parents, educators and our government partners realise that these days more than ever before, the younger generation are in need of 'life skills' to equip them for their life's journey. Our programs are addressing topics such as healthy living, human trafficking awareness, self worth, road safety and living by the good fruit laid out in the 'word.' We have literally taken hundreds of kids and youth through these programs so far.
While in Europe
To celebrate our 20 years of ministry in Vietnam, we decided to take a special holiday and went to Europe. We are so grateful to those of you who helped us make this holiday a reality. We landed in London, hired a car, and toured many places throughout England. We also got to skirt into Edinburgh, Scotland before heading to Paris and then onto the beautiful country of Italy.

While in England, we had the privilege of ministering for our good friends, Tom and Denise Rawls who have a vibrant church in Norwich. We also got to visit other friends Kirk and Tracy McAtear who are building a significant church in the city of Birmingham.
Thank you for being part of our story
Because of your prayers, partnership, love and friendship, we can continue to do what we are called to do. We never take it for granted the relationship we have with you. There is still a world to reach and together we are doing this.
Love
Paul and Deb
