Fwd: Paul and Deb news from Nam

FIRST FLOURISH CONFERENCE
Many of you know that our team has written Life Skills Programs - Courageous for guys and Flourish for women and girls. We are overwhelmed by how far and wide these programs have gone in just three and a half years. We know this is simply due to the foundation these programs are based on. Gen 1:26 (Flourish) and Joshua 1:9 (Courageous)

In June this year we were thrilled to hold our very first FLOURISH conference, where facilitators from 10 of the 14 nations who are running FLOURISH, came together to celebrate the impact FLOURISH is having on women and girls across the globe.

We got to hear many amazing testimonies from some of these facilitators who shared of how girls lives have been impacted. Although the participants came from different backgrounds, cultures and circumstances, the accounts were similar. Many were now living a more confident, goal orientated life, with a belief in a better future for themselves.

We also heard from three women who shared their personal testimonies of how they had stood strong in the face of adversity. Standing strong through loss, sickness and abuse.  Each one witnessing to the fact that God had been their anchor through it all. "This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary." Hebrews 6:10

Later this year, we are taking FLOURISH into Central Asia.

FAMILY NEWS
BELINDA, Emilie, Olivia, Josiah & Isaac
Belinda & the kids have have been back in Vietnam for about 18 months now. Belinda's heart is to see children, particularly those struggling with special needs be educated in a way they best relate to learning. Recently Belinda ran a Summer Program with children from the community using the Charlotte Mason curriculum. This program lends itself to following the child's natural learning style, with emphasis on short lessons & encouraging natural curiosity both through outside exploration, 'living books,' art, music, poetry, as well as observing nature.
JOSH, RACH, Ellia, Asher & Macie
Josh and Rach are building a great community through their HOPE United gatherings. They are seeing new people come along each week and getting connected in. Also Rach is teaching at a local school. This school focuses on imparting worth and value into these children's lives. Two days a week Josh runs a breakfast club for these students as Rach noticed that at times, some of these kids come to school hungry and lack concentration. These breakfasts are making a huge difference to the kids and the Principal is grateful for this support.
It's great having all our family together again and actively involved in reaching community.

Vietnam: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas
How we saw 2017
VIETNAM
Combating sexual abuse is something we are passionate about. This year we were able to partner with our local Women's Union to begin training in Sexual Abuse Awareness with children as well as parents in several communities. We know this training will give children tools in their hands to help them avoid being taken advantaged of.
Prevention of trafficking is also something we are addressing. Again this year, we ran a Life Skills camp with a local high school. These students experience 5 sessions throughout the day. Education on the ploy of traffickers, understanding of their own personal self worth, a lesson in the English language, practical health practices and road safety. Our desire is to see these youth thrive in all areas of their life.
Outreach - Merry Christmas Da Nang
What an incredible opportunity we have as an International Fellowship. Each year we get to present the Christmas message to the city of Da Nang. This our 6th year, saw over 1000 people came along from all walks of life. We are grateful for the favour we have to do this so other's will know the 'Reason for the Season.'
SRI LANKA
WOMEN'S CONFERNCE

1000 women leaning in.

Again this year we had the opportunity to join hands with Sri Lanka. Deb was asked to speak at Alison Atkinson's Alokaya Women's Conference where around 1000 women came and leaned in to hear from God. What a privilege it was for Deb to be asked to speak at this Conference where women received a powerful touch from our Father.

ACC STATE CONFERENCES

Representing our ACCI mission

Again this year, we were blessed to champion missions at several ACC State Conferences by engaging with many who came to our Australian Christian Churches International (ACCI) promotion stand. Missions is something we are passionate about and we love to encourage others to get on board with what is happening around the world or step into their own call for overseas mission.

CALVARY MISSIONS CONFERENCE
HAWAII
We were blessed to be asked to speak at Calvary AOG Missions Conference this year. Pastors Terry and Vicky Wong and their church are passionate about seeing the lost saved around the world. We love their hearts for mission and our long term partnership.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS
Have a blessed and safe Christmas and may 2018 be your best year yet.
Love Paul, Deb and family
