Vietnam: Our World

GIRLS LURED FOR JUST 20 CENTS
We know it is prevalent, but each and every story we hear continues to cause our hearts to sink.

This week one of our Govt partners told us about two young girls aged 10 and 12 who were recently lured away by the promise of just 3,000vnd (under 20 cents) by a contract worker who came to these girl's village to work. Being desperately poor and without understanding of sexual abuse, these innocent lives were taken advantage of. That day, they walked out of their family home normal happy children, but returned home broken. The girls did not say anything on entering their house, however their mother noticed the money in the older girl's hand. After much persuasion and tears, the girls eventually shared what happened.

A tragedy that could possibly have been avoided had
these girls, her family and the community had access to Sexual Abuse Prevention Training.

Next month, we will partner with the Women's Union who will begin training in Sexual Abuse Prevention with 150 community workers who will then go on to train 11 communities (30-35 community workers in each of these communities) and each of them will take this training out into the schools.

AOGWR are committed to seeing such unspeakable acts stopped!

WILL YOU JOIN WITH US IN SEEING THIS TRAINING GO FAR AND WIDE?

We are looking to raise a further $6,000 as soon as possible, so more communities can receive this same training. Any amount will be much appreciated and it is tax deductible. ADOPT A VILLAGE
Question: Why Adopt a Village?
Answer: Because it empowers people and transforms communities

This is one of the most powerful ways we can engage with communities. When a family is empowered, confidence grows, self respect and self worth rises and a strong determined 'we can do it' belief motivates them to build a strong family unit, physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually. When a whole community is empowered, it is transformed. The evidence is clear.

FAMILY
Paul and I are coming up to our 20th year on the field YAY! The sacrifice that comes with that, is being apart from family. We were asking God how can we continue to do what we are called to do and be with our family also. God had plans for us that we never imagined possible. He has brought our family to us. Belinda and her 4 beautiful children and Josh and Rach and their 3 gorgeous children.

Belinda has always had a missions call on her life since she was a young child. Her passion is to see children grow and become all that they are destined to be.

Josh and Rach have a leadership, mentor call on their lives. They will see this outworked here as they begin their new season starting this week.
THANK YOU
For partnership, friendship, prayer, love and commitment to standing with us in all we do. We love and appreciate you more than words can say.
Love Paul and Deb
